This study explores the critical impact that university students’ English ability plays in predicting their academic achievement. It is impossible to overestimate the significance of English in academic contexts as it grows more and more prevalent as the universal language, especially for non-native speakers. This study looks at how different English language proficiency levels-which include speaking, listening, writing, and reading-affect students’ academic performance, which includes grades, understanding of the course material, and involvement in class activities. The study also emphasizes how important it is for colleges to offer strong language assistance programs in order to assist non-native English speakers in bridging language barriers and succeeding academically. The report ends with suggestions for how educational institutions can put focused language programs and resources into place so that all students, regardless of their background in the native tongue, have equal opportunity to succeed academically.

The study identified the lived experiences of English teachers teaching in far-flung schools. It determined the daily experiences, fulfillment, insights, joy, challenges, and coping strategies. A Transcendental Phenomenology was employed to describe their lived experiences. The study used criterion sampling to identify the ten participants from two public schools in South Cotabato, Philippines. Semi-structured interviews were conducted to gather enriching data from the ten volunteered participants. Through Thematic Analysis, the English teachers’ lived experiences centered on seven relevant themes: Inevitable daily struggles, Inadequate pedagogical resources, Inaccessibility to schools, Sense of fulfillment, Psychological stress and adaptability, Aspiring employment preference, and, Continual adjustments and initiatives.
