This study explores the critical impact that university students’ English ability plays in predicting their academic achievement. It is impossible to overestimate the significance of English in academic contexts as it grows more and more prevalent as the universal language, especially for non-native speakers. This study looks at how different English language proficiency levels-which include speaking, listening, writing, and reading-affect students’ academic performance, which includes grades, understanding of the course material, and involvement in class activities. The study also emphasizes how important it is for colleges to offer strong language assistance programs in order to assist non-native English speakers in bridging language barriers and succeeding academically. The report ends with suggestions for how educational institutions can put focused language programs and resources into place so that all students, regardless of their background in the native tongue, have equal opportunity to succeed academically.
