Women constitute almost about half of the nation’s human resource and their participation in the nation building as equal partners is of vital importance. Although the Universal Declaration of Human Rights affirms that all human being are equal in dignity and rights without distinction of any kind, including destination based on sex, it has taken considerable time and effort to accept women’s right as an integral part of human rights. Constitutional guarantees and endless legislative interventions have not yet ensured equality. There exists a great gap between their rights de jure and de facto status. Discrimination against women in access to health care, education, training and employment opportunities still exists in a substantial way. Even for women who are earning a living by working outside their homes, sexual harassment is a major threat at the workplace.

This paper discusses the Six Sigma implications in the academic libraries especially college libraries. Libraries are trying to satisfy the needs of the users however no users are fully satisfied with the services provided by library. Six Sigma is a powerful method to find out gaps and shortcomings of the system and provide scope for improvement. In the changing environment, companies constantly look for new ways to improve their business processes, and satisfy the customers’ wants and needs. Six Sigma is the most powerful statistical tool that enables organizations to considerably increase profits by restructuring the operations and remove the defects or mistakes in the processes involved in it. Library is an effective source of information to be shared by people of all kinds. Six Sigma systems have relationship with customers and financial constituents. Six Sigma is a journey for those who are truly committed to improving the quality and meeting customer needs as well as driving human development to new levels. It is not an opportunity but a responsibility of every person in implementing and sustaining this strategy that will improve the culture in their organization.

What are the most influential factors that are related to the use of computers by teachers in classroom instruction? Understanding and defining computer use is the first and most important requirement of the study. Understanding and defining the factors related to computer use, as found in the literature, is the next charge. A search of the literature about computer use suggests some major factors are attitudes, access, training, support, and characteristic of individuals. The review will consist of six areas of discussion: computer use, attitudes, access, training, support, and characteristics of teachers. The purpose of this study was to determine the extent to which the following factors predict computer use by teachers in classroom instruction: attitudes of teachers toward computers in the classroom, access by teachers and students to computers, training of teachers in computer use, support of teachers in their use of computers, age of the teacher, Class level in which the teacher teaches, curriculum area in which the teacher teaches, gender of the teacher, and number of years the teacher is from retirement. Computer use was measured in five ways: over-all computer use and use in drill and practice, whole class instruction, student-directed learning, and computer skills instruction.

Differences in intelligence have been known for recorded human history, but the development of early intelligence tests by Alfred Binet led to the Stanford-Binet IQ test developed by Lewis Terman. Terman began long-term studies of gifted children with a view to checking if the popular view “early ripe, early rot” was true. The Terman Genetic Studies of Genius longitudinal study has been described by successor researchers who conducted the study after Terman’s death and also by an independent researcher who had full access to the study files. Modern studies by James and Kulik conclude that gifted students benefit least from working in a mixed-level class, and benefit most from learning with other similarly advanced students in accelerated or enriched classes.

The present paper explain that Children have different strategies for learning and achieving their goals. A few students in a classroom will grasp and learn quickly, but at the same time there will be those who have to be repeatedly taught using different techniques for the student to be able to understand the lesson. On the other hand, there are those students who fool around and use school as entertainment. Teaching then becomes difficult, especially if there is no proper communication. A positive relationship between the student and the teacher is difficult to establish, but can be found for both individuals at either end. The qualities for a positive relationship can vary to set a learning experience approachable and inviting the students to learn.
